The PMS girls defeated Wickford Middle School 2-0 to earn the first state title in only the program’s second season!

The boy’s were undefeated in regular season play and advanced to the semi-final game before a 1-0 defeat brought their very successful season to an end. In only their second season the boy’s made a marked improvement over their 2010 result. We look forward to next year. Good luck to all the 8th graders who will be moving on next year.

RIPCOA rules required a coin flip to determine home field advantage for the semi-final round since equally seeded teams are playing. Unfortunately both our teams lost the coin flip today.
The girls will travel to Curtis Corner Middle School (Stadium) on Monday for a 4:30 start and the boys will travel to Davisville Middle School game for a 3pm game also on Monday.

Both the PMS girls and PMS Boys teams finished at the top of their respective divisions during regular season play. Playoffs begin November 1st, quarter finals are 11/3, Semifinals are 11/7 and the finals are 11/9 at Gaudet Middle School. Congratulations PMS teams and good luck !
Please note the RIPCOA requires the host school to collect fees for all playoff games. Family tickets are $12, Adults are $5, and students are $3. The PMSABC has been asked to collect fees at our home games. A PMSABC representative will be at each game to distribute tickets. Please have correct change or a check payable to PMS available for collection during the game.

Thank you very much for supporting the Portsmouth Middle School Athletic Booster Club. Last Friday’s 1st annual Kick-A-Thon was a huge success. We raised almost $1600.00 for PMS sports with this great event.
Also, thank you to the many parent volunteers that came out and helped run the events on Friday as everything went smoothly and the kids had a great time!
